E. Benjamin Skinner & the reality of modern day slavery

While covering the Oslo Freedom Forum we had the opportunity to interview E. Benjamin Skinner, a journalist who has specialized on human trafficking and slavery and written the book: A Crime So Monstrous. He was able to tell us about the breadth of slavery today as well as how business could be one the most powerful force for reducing it.

During the interview Skinner cites a recent article he wrote for Business Week Magazine: The Fishing Industry’s Cruelest Catch.

Modern-day slavery is an uncomfortable subject that many of us never really see. According to Skinner, there are more slaves on earth today than ever before. And there’s a good stuff that some of the products you use each day are, at least partially, made by slaves. Now isn’t the time to look away. Watch the interview and decide what you will do about it.
